Meetings & Events

PFLAG Mercer County hosts monthly meetings where people with shared experiences can connect to gain support, ask questions, and learn from others who have been through similar experiences. Meetings primarily cater to adults (18+) who are LGBTQ+ individuals or are parents, family members, or allies of LGBTQ+ individuals.  Some meetings feature guest speakers from the community or knowledgeable about certain topics.


Meetings are held virtually on the second Monday of each month from 7pm-9pm.

Upcoming Meetings & Events (2026)

  • January 12th, 7pm-9pm - Virtual Meeting: Peer-facilitated discussion and information sharing in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental setting.
  • February 9th, 7pm-9pm - Join us for discussion with a panel of Princeton University LGBT Center Peer Educators who will share their stories, answer questions, and discuss LGBTQ+ life at Princeton, followed by peer-facilitated discussion and information sharing in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental setting.
  • March 9th, 7pm-9pm - Virtual Meeting: We will be joined tonight by two married couples from the LGBT community to share with us their experiences, followed by peer-facilitated discussion and information sharing in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental setting.
  •  April 13th, 7pm-9pm - Virtual Meeting: Peer-facilitated discussion and information sharing in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental setting.
  • April 17th, 4pm-7pm – PFLAG Mercer County will be tabling at the 5th annual Princeton University PrideFest!  There will be games, food trucks, drag performances, resources, and more.  Come out and say hi!
  • May 2nd, 10am - PFLAG Mercer County will be tabling and speaking at LGBTQ 501 at the Hopewell Valley Central High School.  This event is a combination of resource tables by local community groups and discussion panels with LGBTQ+ experts, advocates, and peers.  Come out for opportunities to meet, listen, ask, and learn.
  • May 11th, 7pm-9pm - Virtual Meeting: This month we are joined by Lucas Manrique, recent author of a new guide to supporting trans people.  Following Lucas we will have peer-facilitated discussion and information sharing in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental setting.
    • Lucas (he/him/él) is a queer, first generation, bilingual, Colombian-American raised in Paterson, NJ, now living in Central New Jersey.  After beginning studies in Neuroscience at The University of Scranton, Lucas finished a Bachelor's in psychology at Montclair State University where he went on to earn his Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  Lucas is a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Licensed Associate Counselor in New Jersey and has worked extensively with LGBTQIA clients. He is passionate about supporting the whole of the Queer Community, especially Queer clients of color. In addition to providing therapy, Lucas works full-time at Hudson County Community College as an Academic Counselor. Lucas is currently working on a book about allyship for Trans and Gender Diverse Communities.  Lucas is an enthusiastic amateur at many things, including bird watching, rock climbing, and being a person.  He lives with his partner, two cats, two frogs, and one gecko.  
  • May 30th, 11am-6pm – PFLAG Mercer County will be marching and tabling at Trenton Pride 2026.  There will be live entertainment, music, drag performances, vendors, artists & craftspeople, food trucks, installation art, family activity areas, local businesses, community partners & more.  If you would like to march with us, send an email to info@pflagmercercounty.org.
  • June 5th, 6:30pm - 9pm - PFLAG Mercer County will be tabling at the Princeton Library Pride On The Plaza held in the Princeton library plaza at 65 Witherspoon St, Princeton, NJ. 
  • June 8th, 7pm-9pm - Virtual Meeting: Peer-facilitated discussion and information sharing in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental setting
  • June 13th, 10am - PFLAG Mercer County will be marching and tabling at Princeton Pride.  This is a big fun event marching a little less than a mile through Princeton to the YMCA where there will be entertainment, food, vendors, resources, music, and games.  If you would like to march with us, send an email to info@pflagmercercounty.org.
  • June 14th, 2pm - 4pm - PFLAG Mercer County will be tabling at Robbinsville Pride at Killarney's Publick House restaurant parking lot, 1644 Whitehorse Mercerville Rd, Hamilton Township, NJ
  • July 13th, 7pm-9pm - We will be joined by Terry West (he/him), Director of the Mercer County Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs. Terry will talk about the office’s activities and plans. Following Terry we will have peer-facilitated discussion and information sharing in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental setting.

  • September 14th, 7pm-9pm - Virtual Meeting: We are happy to have Dina Castillo presenting to our group. Dina uses they/she pronouns and is the HOPE Center Program Supervisor and Lead Kaleidoscope Advocate at the Center for Family Services. Dina's role is to educate folks on topics related to LGBTQIA+ competency, best practices, challenges and barriers, violence prevention, and more. Over the course of three and a half years in her role at CFS, she has trained over 3,700 service providers, clinicians, and other community members.  Dina will be presenting  to our group LGBTQIA+ Competence and Humility Training, during which we will explore the challenges and needs of queer identifying individuals through this research-based training. The presentation will define some of the many LGBTQIA+ identities and reviews best practices regarding gender affirming care, pronouns, and more. Walk away with an improved understanding of terminology and how to support community needs!  Following Dina's presentation, we will have peer-facilitated discussion and information sharing in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental setting.

  • November 9th, 7pm-9pm - Virtual Meeting: We are pleased to be joined by Dr. Lucas Wilson.  Dr. Wilson is a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Toronto Mississauga and was formerly the Justice, Equity, and Transformation Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Calgary.  Following Dr. Wilson we will have peer-facilitated discussion and information sharing in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental setting.
    • Conversion practices constitute the damaging efforts to change queer individuals' sexual orientations and/or gender identities and expressions. Despite the common misapprehension—in North America, at least—that conversion practices are a thing of the past, such anti-LGBTQ+ efforts persist and continue to wreak havoc on countless queer and trans individuals, particularly those in high-control religious contexts. As a survivor of conversion therapy himself, Dr. Wilson will present a broadened definition of conversion practices before discussing the prevalence of conversion practices in North America. Dr. Wilson will flesh out the ways by which conversion practitioners seek the eradication of LGBTQ+ communities in North America and beyond.
